Picture of the Month, July 2001 ![]() In 1939 AS Holmenkolbanen put two new motor cars into service that were rather different from the earlier cars. No. 113 and 114 were built by Skabo with electrical equipment from Siemens, and the body was made of steel. The cars were painted wine red, and that gave them the name "robin redbreasts", because Bærumsbanen bought eight similar C1 class cars for the new Kolsås line in 1942, but they were painted dark blue. The motor effect was 4x 70 kW. The cars had 86 seats and space for 86 people standing. On the picture above is no. 113 near Frøen. Both no. 113 and 114 are scrapped. Photo: LTF Archive. |
