Picture of the Month, December 2000 ![]() From 1922 to 1925, Kristiania Sporveisselskab (KSS) built 19 new motorcars on their own workshop at Homansbyen. These are displayed in the survey below. Two of these got electric equipment from General Electric and truck from Brill. The other 17 got electric equipment from Siemens-Schuckert and truck built by KSS themselves. When these motorcars were built, KSS used 17 carbodies from older cars, from this 15 of "Schuckert" type and two of "Union" type. These carbodies were lengthened with one metre, which increased the seats from 20 to 24. The rest was completely new; big enclosed platforms, truck and electric equipment. That's why we can say that these cars are new in the reality and no rebuilding. The class were all taken out of service in 1966-67. vognene. On the picture above is Oslo Sporveier's "municipal HaWa" no. 126, photographed in the 60's. It had the number 510 from 1922 to 1924. In 1924 it got the number 126 and was repainted in Oslo livery. The ineriour is, except for the length, identical with the original municipal tramcars. Of the "municipal Hawa's", no. 121 is preserved by Local Transport Historical Association and is exhibited in the Tramway Museum Vognhall 5.
