Picture of the Month, May 2000  "The Glass Cabinet" or trailer no. 541, was the last new-built two-axle tramcar that was obtained in Oslo. It was built as a test car in 1929 at Oslo Sporveier's own workshop with Berlin as model. However only this tramcar was built. The appearance showed signs of some kind of "funkis" style. The trailer was 10,4 metres long, measured 3,0 metres between the axles and weighted 6,5 tons. In 1961, it was taken out of service. Photo: LTF Archive. |
